POOIA Scholarship Program

Each year, our program selects a select number of outstanding Iranian-American students in the undergraduate or graduate level to receive a merit- based scholarship on behalf of POOIA.

Scholarships are awarded December of each year. This year’s scholarship award application will be announced October/November this year. When applying for the POOIA scholarships, the applicants need to follow a set of guidelines. Candidates are also expected to have a sustained record of academic excellence. Selection criteria include academic merit, intellectual curiosity, and philosophical creativity. Students who have overcome obstacles related to health, family, educational or economic disadvantages are also strongly encouraged to apply. Any circumstances that demonstrate strength of character and potential for great achievement should be stated in your application (examples include: professional excellence, community outreach and service, initiative and leadership potential).
